East Brainerd is located minutes east of downtown and minutes west of Volkswagen's North America assembly plant and an Amazon distribution facility, which collectively employ thousands of locals. It offers countless restaurants and shopping options, and is easily accessible via I-75, making commuting around town or day trips to surrounding cities a breeze.

LOCATION


Residents of centrally located East Brainerd are just minutes away from virtually every other part of the city, as well as near I-75, I-59, and I-24, giving them convenient access to Atlanta, Nashville, Birmingham, and Knoxville. The area provides quick access to the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport.

SCHOOLS

East Brainerd is home to East Brainerd Elementary and Westview Elementary, as well as the highly rated Chattanooga School for Liberal Arts magnet school and East Hamilton Middle/High School. The area is also home to several private schools, including Silverdale Baptist Academy, St. Nicholas School, Standifer Gap SDA School, and the award-winning Grace Academy, which is temporarily holding classes at nearby Morris Hill Baptist Church while it rebuilds from a tornado which destroyed its campus in 2020.

East Brainerd offers many delicious local and national restaurant options.

Nowhere in the Chattanooga area can claim more delicious dining options than East Brainerd. The Hamilton Place Mall area is chock full of comfort cuisine like the Cheesecake Factory, P.F. Chang's, First Watch, Bonefish Grill, Texas Roadhouse, J. Alexander's, Cheddar's, Mission Barbeque, and many, many more. Start your day with a cup of coffee at the Red Owl or the Green Bean. Hit Champy's for the city's best fried chicken. Grab a slice or a whole pie at Community Pie or Lupi's Pizza. Try the best Thai food in town at Rain. Enjoy Mexican favorites at Taco Mamacita, Molcajete, La Alteña, and Playa Del Sol. End your day on a sweet note at Bruster's Real Ice Cream or Tasty Donuts next door.

SHOPPING

If you can't buy it in East Brainerd, it might not exist. For many locals, East Brainerd is synonymous with Hamilton Place Mall, one of the largest malls in Tennessee. Hamilton Place boasts dozens of popular retailers, such as Belk, Dillard's, H&M, Sephora, Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, The Children's Place, JC Penney, and Barnes & Noble. The options continue outside the mall, including national names like DSW Shoes, J. Jill, TJ Maxx, Marshall’s, Target, Walmart, REI, Best Buy, Hobby Lobby, and many more, as well as numerous boutiques and specialty shops lining the mall area and the surrounding area. East Brainerd is also home to the extremely popular McKay Used Books and CDs, which buys, sells, and trades books, music, movies, games, collectibles, and countless other fun items.

ACTIVITIES

The peaceful and sprawling Heritage Park features a playground, dog park, walking paths, and picnic areas, as well as numerous festivals and concerts on the grounds each year. Explore five miles of wooded walking trails, go canoeing, or take a dip at Audubon Acres. Once the site of the Volunteer Army Ammunition Plant, the 6,000-acre Enterprise South Nature Park offers tons of walking, running, and biking trails. You can play a round at Council Fire Golf Club, Brainerd Golf Course, Brown Acres Golf Course, or Concord Golf Club. East Brainerd is also home to escape rooms, bowling alleys, roller skating, and trampoline parks, as well as food and arcade fun at Dave & Buster’s. Just up the road, the whole family can ride the rails at the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum.
